Amido Black BIO
Amido Black began its formation in the spring/summer of 2005. Burton (vocal), Gordon (guitar), and Hopkins (bass) began writing the foundations of a few songs still played today. Needing to complete the unit they began looking for a drummer and another guitar player. Without having to search too far Clint (guitar), and Pete (drums) came in and liked the ideas being thrown around. One thing that was steadfast from the start was that they would not rush anything, that when it was ready, it was ready, and in a big way. So after taking a couple months to feel each other out, Amido Black began working as a whole. Realizing each one of the member’s individual strength and utilizing them as they learned how to write together. No ideas go unheard or unexplored. After about six months they had enough material to put a set together and booked their first show. They recorded their first three-song demo "diy", and got together merchandise before anyone even knew who they were. The night of the show, Amido Black hit the scene in an unheard of proportion. It was like a bomb exploded that, in turn, consumed the local scene overnight. Now a little more than a year later after hitting the ground running, they are running still. They have released a five-song ep entitled, "Quid Pro Quo". This disc showcases their progression over the past year. They are networking and playing as many shows as they can to help spread their work beyond the original blast radius. They pride themselves on making sure that their live show is nothing short of intense. Sonically, the music is hard hitting while the content of the music has substance and deep meaning. They chose to name the band Amido Black because of its rebellious overtone. The listener doesn’t know what to expect because the name doesn’t leave you with any preconceived notions. It gives the band the freedom that they desire to write in any style and not be categorized by assumptions.
